Wed, 29 November 2006 ![]() 12/15/88 On the evening of December 15, 1988 Philly legend Kenn Kweder made the trek up to Trenton, New Jersey, most likely via I-95, to chat with me and play a few songs on the show. He discussed many things, including, but not limited to, a leap from the top of a moving bus, sadistic ex-girlfriends, and a very expensive and extravagent Elvis Presley tribute/parody show that was coming up in several weeks. (BTW, a video documentary of Kenn's Elvis show has been posted to Youtube!) Oh, and I can't forget the music! Kenn gives a great acoustic performance of some of his best songs; including Torn Rice, Girl with the Dylan Flowers, Remember Me and many others. Enjoy! Comments[1] |
Sat, 30 September 2006 ![]() Another great band from North Jersey, the Gripweeds are heavily influenced by 60's pop and psychadelica. This band worked very hard on harmonies and the proof is in the performance. The vocals are just amazing, except , of course, for when they convince me to sing along on I Got You, Babe. Ouch!...Sorry guys. Enjoy! 1. It Won't Be Wrong 2. Your Love 3. Headed For a Fall 4. So Sad About Us 5. I Got You, Babe Comments[0] |
Sat, 30 September 2006 ![]() This was a very interesting night. In fact the whole show came together in a strange way. I was upstairs at Trenton's City Gardens and I noticed something wedged up in the drop ceiling over in the corner. I went over to investigate and found it was a 7" Fiendz single for the song Runaway with Me and a flier announcing some of their upcoming shows. I went home put it on the turntable and absolutely loved it. Well I just had to have them play on the show. They agreed and the rest is on this podcast. Well, that's just part of the story. When they arrived that night they discovered, after travelling over 70 miles from Totowa, New Jersey, that they had forgotten a guitar chord. I announced that the broadcast may need to be cancelled unless someone out there in radioland could bring down a chord for the band. Well, within a few minutes someone arrived with the most needed chord. I actually thank him, by name, on the air between two of the songs in the set. A special thanks also have to go out to Scott Lowe for engineering this complicated stereo performance. Here it is.....The Fiendz on The Spaghetti in a Box Show! We're The Fiendz Never Wanted her to Go Living Dead I Don't Wanna Go Outside What We Believe Rules Were Made To Be Broken Take Off and Go I Don't wanna Be Good I Don't Love You No One in the World Ask Me Why Runaway With Me Rid of You Don't Point
